Barhni- Border of INDIA and NEPAL

Many places in uttar pradesh are connected with Nepal. Barhni is one of them while area of Nepal connected to border named Krishnanagar.
Barhni is located in the route of Gorakhpur - Gonda. It is 120 km from Gorakhpur and 120 km from Gonda too while Gonda is 140 km far from Lucknow. You can reach there by bus or by train. To travel from Gorakhpur to barhni will take around 7-8 hours by bus and 3-4 hour by train. It is better to travel by train. It is cheaper and croud is very less in that route. The border is 500 meter far from barhni bus stop and 100 meter far from barhni station.

Plenty of markets available on both sides of the border. people come there for shopping. They provide good quality cloth at cheap rate. Lots of people buy blanket from there. Markets are very good for woolen clothes. 

Since it is situated near border, you will not get mobile network in barhni. Forget about internet, you can not even make any call.  

Soilder are posted across across border. Although atmosphere seems to be friendly. No one will check you, you can easily get across. Other than border gate you can also enter as markets are also inter connected and guards are also posted there but you will not found any board. You can take your vehicle across upto 1-2 km without any extra permit. You can make an permit to take your vehicle inside deeper.  To take your vehicle you need to pass through main gate.

The best place you can through that border in Nepal would be Pokhara and Manokamna. You can easily get travel agency there. If you found price higer, you can travel through public bus to butwal bus stand. From there you will get bus to Manokama.

Foods available in LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY

There are lots of option to eat in Lovely Professional University. We can categorize  food option in four sectors.

1. Mess
2. Canteen
3. Food courts
4. W H smith(super market)

Mess

Mess is available in each hostel in lovely professional university. It is categorize in Basic and standard where Basic is for limited food while standard is for unlimited food. It is further divided into North Indian food and South Indian food. They provide food 4 times in a day.

• Morning Breakfast-(7:30 am-9 am)
• Lunch-(12 pm-3 pm)
• Evening Snacks-(5 pm-6 pm)
• Dinner-(7 pm-9 pm)

In morning they generally give paratha, tea, etc. During Lunch and Dinner  they gives rice and chapati both. In evening they give  tea and light snacks like samosa, bread pakora, nimki, nutri kulcha, etc. Evening snacks are not unlimited. 

To avail mess students have to pay for full semester or for a year in advance.It costs rs 30,000 for a year and 15,500 for a semester as per standard mess.

Canteen

It is present inside hostel as well as outside hostel. The canteen present inside hostel open till 3-4 am in night. If student had not availed mess facility then he can eat from canteen because payment is done at time of purchase. Variety of foods available in canteen but best seller are paratha, dalpuri and thali.

Food courts

Food courts are the best part of LPU. It is group of  small continuous shops just like temporary shops built during festivals. Food courts opens from 8 am to 11 pm. Large variety of foods available in food court. Some of the food available in food courts are-Poha, Burger, Pizza, jalebi, Dosa, Bonda. pastry, etc.

W H smith

It is a type of supermarket. It is open for 22-23 hours per day. It consist of most of the general items related to stationary, grooming and food. It also includes cold drinks and ice-creams.

Hajipur to Barhni direct train

No direct train shows from Hajipur, Muzaffarpur to Barhni on any app or website.
But there is one way to get direct train in that route.

Barhni is one of the place in uttar pradesh(UP) where border of India-nepal situated.

Many trains run in the route Muzzaffarpur->Hajipur->chhapra->Siwan->Gorakhpur->Gonada->Lucknow
There are two routes from Gorakhpur to Gonda in which one route pass from Barhni but all trains coming from Hajipur pass by other route.


Asansol-gorakhpur express, Train no-13507 solve this purpose.
This train run from Asansol to gorakhpur via hajipur as train no 13507 and then same train having diffrent name run from Gorakhpur to Barhni as special train having train number 05061.
This train also returns as train no 05062 from Barhni to Gorakhpur and as train no 13508 from Gorakhpur to Asansol via Hajipur and Muzzaffarpur.
This train having stopage of  30min-1hour at Gorakhpur.

This train run only one day in week that is saturday. you can check train number online.
From Barhni to Gorakhpur, generally train is little crouded.
