Barhni- Border of INDIA and NEPAL

Many places in uttar pradesh are connected with Nepal. Barhni is one of them while area of Nepal connected to border named Krishnanagar.
Barhni is located in the route of Gorakhpur - Gonda. It is 120 km from Gorakhpur and 120 km from Gonda too while Gonda is 140 km far from Lucknow. You can reach there by bus or by train. To travel from Gorakhpur to barhni will take around 7-8 hours by bus and 3-4 hour by train. It is better to travel by train. It is cheaper and croud is very less in that route. The border is 500 meter far from barhni bus stop and 100 meter far from barhni station.

Plenty of markets available on both sides of the border. people come there for shopping. They provide good quality cloth at cheap rate. Lots of people buy blanket from there. Markets are very good for woolen clothes. 

Since it is situated near border, you will not get mobile network in barhni. Forget about internet, you can not even make any call.  

Soilder are posted across across border. Although atmosphere seems to be friendly. No one will check you, you can easily get across. Other than border gate you can also enter as markets are also inter connected and guards are also posted there but you will not found any board. You can take your vehicle across upto 1-2 km without any extra permit. You can make an permit to take your vehicle inside deeper.  To take your vehicle you need to pass through main gate.

The best place you can through that border in Nepal would be Pokhara and Manokamna. You can easily get travel agency there. If you found price higer, you can travel through public bus to butwal bus stand. From there you will get bus to Manokama.
